Jessica Kaur

Jessica Kaur is a French language teacher with 3 years under her belt, with experience teaching a pretty broad age range of learners. She’s got a DELF B2 certification and is still working on her Master’s in French Language and Francophone Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University. That academic background has given her a solid grounding in how to teach languages, linguistics and all that business of different cultures relating to each other.

Jessica specialises in getting total beginners to French to get a good grounding. She makes learning a language pretty hands-on – her classes mix up the theory with interactive bits like role plays and short conversations to get everyone talking.

Plus, alongside teaching, she’s done her fair share of community service, which has only strengthened her faith in how well education can open up all sorts of doors.

Being a language learner herself from a pretty early age, she totally gets what its like to be in those students shoes, struggling to learn a new language. But she loves being there to guide them through all that, showing them new and innovative ways to get to grips with it all.

Outside of teaching, she loves getting lost in a good novel or short story in French – at the moment, she’s really into L’Étranger, which keeps her tied to the language and its culture.
